Custom Ceremonies for Life’s Celebrations

Couples choose a Celebrant for their Wedding Ceremony because they want a celebration that honours their personal story, bringing together the most important moments of their lives.

I am dedicated to preparing a ceremony that’s everything you imagined.

Hello, my name is Diane York, and I am a native of Wales. I have recently returned to the UK after living in Portland, Maine U.S.A for many years. I was a Wedding Planner and a State Commissioned Notary Public (Equivalent to a Registrar). It has been my honour to marry more than two hundred couples.

As a strong supporter of the Portland Arts Community, I designed, produced and coordinated countless events. Known for my “impeccable productions” for such established organisations as Opera Maine, Portland Players, Portland Stage Company and the Portland Symphony Orchestra – in fact, any major group with Portland in its title! I currently serve on the Advisory Board of Opera Maine. I was also involved with smaller groups producing annual dinners, auction fund-raisers, award ceremonies and, of course, weddings, which are my passion.

My rich and varied professional career includes owning and operating a hair and nail salon, as well as leading travel groups to Australia, New Zealand, Great Britain and SouthEast Asia. I have a strong background in retail and advertising sales, with customer service always my main goal. My decades of experience as a community theatre producer, and travel excursion host, have served as an excellent background for customizing events and ceremonies and planning them down to the finest detail.

I am a three-time Maine Senior Olympics gold medallist qualifying for the Boston Marathon. In both the Bermuda International Marathon (2000) and the MDI Marathon (2004) I placed in my class, and in 2017 I completed a Triathlon – had to learn how to swim first! Most recently, I Walked the Wight for Mountbatten Hospice.
